5 Ways To Be More Productive For Under $5 | Task Management

Are you busy?  Do you have an iPad? Do you usually have a lot going on each day/week and tend to wonder if a good task list or todo list would help?  It seems that no matter what you do, whether a student or a busy professional or a blogger, etc. then your world is increasingly hectic.  There are a lot of task management apps out on the app store, but we wanted to highlight a few that are functional and affordable.

Qualities Of A Good Task Management App

When you are looking for a good iPad app that manages your tasks and to-do items there are few things to keep in mind that will be helpful.  The most important thing is the design. You want it to work and function much like your common “task list on paper” method.  Sure, it can have some extra added functionality but the main point is that you want one which follows the K.I.S.S (Keep It Simple) principle.

Another great feature to look for in the ability to use it on multiple devices.  You might want to jot down a task on your iPhone and then have it show up right in your task management app on your iPad.

The other good quality of a task management app is overall ease of use . You want to be able to open it up, use it, and have it manage your tasks as opposed to trying to be everything to everyone.

You can spend a lot of money on some of these apps but there are also some that are not so expensive and deserve worthy mention!  Thus, we would like to share with you some great ways to be productive for less that $10.

Well Done!

Well Done!

Todo Queue

Todo Queue

Here is an intuitive (and very well priced) task management app you can use for any type of task you can throw at it.  With it, you can quickly capture tasks and then view them ordered by priority, title, list, or due date.  There is nothing in the way here, just a simple task management app with some great features such as emailing your task list, colored themes, flagging overdue tasks and a clean, simple interface.  Featured in the App store it has consistently received great reviews.

Taska For iPad

Want to get things done?  This task management app is a little more expensive ($4.99) but still falls under the category of simple and easy to use task management on the iPad.  Taska adds a twist however.   Not only is it a great way to manage all your tasks, it also syncs with Taska on the iPhone for free via Toodledo.  This gives you the ability to share and sync your tasks whether you are using your iPhone or iPad.  Tasks also includes the ability to put all your tasks into “projects” so it is a little more organized than just a simple task list.  You also get all of the usual task management goodies as well as the syncing and automatic backups.

Next Thing

Next Thing

Looking for a task management app that is completely different?  Next Thing is a way to manage tasks in a much different way. It is designed to sit next to your computer and allow you to quickly and easily use the app by swiping and hand gestures.  It allows you to focus on the tasks instead of the app.  You can flick through your tasks, swipe down to complete them or swipe across to the next one.  It is getting really great reviews as an alternative to the standard list-based task manager for the iPad.  This one is perfect for the student or the home office worker!

Todo for iPad

Normally a $9.99 app this one is on sale for $4.99.  Todo is definitely a more sophisticated task management app.  Graphically, it looks and behaves like a personal planner (remember when we had paper planners?), but it is much more than just a planner. Todo is a full-fledged task management system that is still very simple to use and reasonably priced.

Yeah, this one turns up the dial a bit compared to the others but since they have the price reduced it’s a great one to check out!

So there are 5 for 5.  5 ways to be productive for under $5.  Each one of these task management apps has its own unique interface and ability to manage tasks but they all accomplish that one goal: helping you be more productive with your iPad.  Take a look at each one and let us know which one you use.

Awesome list. I love how beautiful some of these apps are. It makes me want to download all of them to try LOL. :)

Lol. Am I gonna make you go broke ;-)
Yeah. I agree and it just goes to show how far these apps are coming along for such little money. Compare this to software for desktops or laptops and it would be hundreds of dollars to find just the right one.
