In category that is a broad as it is littered with apps, we were unsure how we should focus or criteria to find the best iPad music app? So avoiding the excellent apps that link to your iPod music library, and those that identify music or give you access to a variety of sounds, new and old. We set our sight on those applications that actually allow you to create and interact with your own self produced music and this kind of application rarely reach the heights of IK Multimedia’s home studio app, AmpliTube for iPad !
AmpliTube For iPad: The Best iPad Music App
Although the price may seem a little prohibitive this application genuinely turns your iDevice into a fully functioning and equipped mobile guitar, bass, keyboard and vocal multi-effect processor and recording studio! Play, practice and record any time, anywhere with world-class guitar and bass tones, vocal effects and productions tools along with a full portable studio. Giving you realistic tones and effects, plus full recording and processing capabilities in a powerful iPad music app.
As you can imagine this application is for serious musicians only and your investment to fully exploit the power available requires more than the download fee! As mentioned above, in order for this app to work correctly you need a small piece of hardware called the iRig. Which retails around the same price of the application itself. The iRig allows you to plug your guitar and a headset or speaker into the headphone jack on your iPad. You’ll want to get your iRig plugged in and ready before you open the app up. Once you get your iRig set-up and open the app up. Once you get your iRig set-up and open the AmpliTube for iPad you’ll be greeted by the home screen. If you’re at all familiar with setting effects up with stomp boxes – five effects are available as an in-app purchase – you’ll feel right at home with this app. You’ll notice that you’re already familiar with. This makes it a lot easier to get an idea of exactly what kind of sounds the effect your working with is capable of.
While the effects are all really impressive, ranging from classic to contemporary, the most ear catching feature of this app is the amp simulators. Not only can you use a variety of different amps, but you have all of the knobs that you would expect to have available in this app! For example, the “clean” amp has a very clean “bluesy” sound and has knobs to control volume, bass, mid, treble, presence, re-verb, and two knobs for controlling the tremolo effect. The additional of single track recorder adds further to the must have nature of this product – this can be increased to an 8ptrack studio via an additional in app purchases. These recordings can be saved into a high-quality M4A sound format which can be emailed via the app.
We could go on for pages about all the great features of this app and how it works, but you really just have to hear it for yourself! Whether you’re just looking for good way to practice quietly at home, or you need some killer effects for a recording you’re working. AmpliTube for iPad is more than capable! Bring the recording studio into your home and then take it with you in your pocket!

The one thing you neglected to mention about AmpliTube is the fact that a free version is available for those who want to check it out. It is limited and doesn’t feature all the options, but it lets users get their feet wet using the tool and helps them make up their mind about purchasing.
I would not call this the best music app. Maybe it’s the best music app for people who play the electric guitar, but that’s a fAR cry from being the best general music app. How can you possibly compare this to GarageBand, which simulates the sounds of guitars AND bass AND keyboards AND allows you to record your VOICE?
This app appears to be a guitar amp simulator. It might be the best guitar amp simulator, but really it is quite limited.
If you don’t want GarageBand (and there are reasons not to want it), there is Sonoma Wire’s music studio app as well as a number of others that should be compared with this one to provide readers with a fair review rather than more prose that sounds like corporate hype.
Yeah I agree Liz, perhaps it could be referred to as “one of the best”, but not THE best. It is a really descent app, I think the graphics are really sharp and appealing and it does have it’s benefits. With that said though it’s too broad and narrow to refer to it as the “best music app” considering there are so many different types of music apps that are developed for specific things and have a wide range of different features & capabilities.
i like the game “king of trindor ” very much ,i am hooking on it right now ! what about you ?
