Pool games on any format have always been tricky to master, given that most people play the game by hitting the balls, crossing their fingers that the right ones go in and praying that the white ball stays out of a pocket.

With this mind, it is refreshing to have a game like Pool Master Pro on the Android Market – one which chooses playability over trying to be just like pool in real life.

Pool Master Pro is currently on of the best Android games for pool game, mainly due to the fact that it is completely free and offers a whole load features. There’s touch control for moving the stick and there are a number of modes, including free play, challenge mode (where you have two minutes to get as high a score as possible) and practise mode.

You also have the choice between eight ball and nine ball pool. All controls are done using the touchscreen and the game’s graphics, while not astounding, at least have a nice three-dimensional feeling to them.

We did find that the aiming system took some time to master, but once you get your eye in the game, just like the real thing, is highly addictive. It’s quite likely to turn you in to a budding Fast Eddie.
