Here is an iPad productivity app that combines three very important functions: tasks, calendar, and notes. Smart Pad is a mega planner for the person that wants to be super productive and use just one tool. But, is there a danger in combining too many features into one single app?
3 Important Functions Combined
There are tons of iPad productivity apps out there. We have looked at several such productivity apps over the past few months and all of them have their own pros and cons. At the heart of all of them, however, are three important functions: calendar, tasks, notes. These are what most people look for when they seek out an app to help them organize their busy life.
Smart Pad combines all three functions and even includes a time tracker as well as an organizer. So what makes this productivity app different from any other? It has some interesting logic built right into it. And these are some things you can actually make use of. The SmartTime logic is a way for the app to look at your appointments and then find the best time for all your tasks based on your availability.
It also has two other features which make up it’s core: Day Manager and HyperNotes. Day Manager is the productive part of the entire app. It allows you to organize, prioritize and plan both interactively and intuitively. The HyperNotes features allows you to take notes associated with any day. Then you can highlight a word or phrase and have it create a task or follow-up. Basically, the entire app has several functions which are all interconnected and work together.
Who Is This For
This is a great productivity app if you don’t mind the $18.99 price. It is definitely a full-featured app with the potential to help you either save a lot of time or get overwhelmed with options. It has the potential to be very flexible. You could use it as a student, a busy professional or even a small business owner (or blogger) that needs to keep track of tasks and time very closely.
The one downside to any of these “combined functions” apps is that they tend to have a lot of features but they lack in other areas. This one in particular seems to be a pretty safe bet, however, you will want to make sure you explore all of the reviews and make the right decision before purchasing it. It appears that there is great support and updates are fairly frequent.

Shane, This app seems very impressive to me. I just purchased Pocket Informant and really didn’t do all that much for me. I am looking at replacing PI and going with this one.
