5 iPad Business Apps That Explode With Productivity

The apps just keep rolling in and the business apps for the iPad are no exception.  Some of the iPad business apps have been great but don’t offer much in the way of productivity while others (such as Evernote) are an incredible way to get things done and put your iPad to good use.  Here, however, are five brand new iPad business apps that are definitely worth checking out and investing some time in.

iPad Business Apps

It’s no secret by now that the iPad is versatile.  You know it is because you use it for so many things.  Think about a typical day. You can check email, surf the web, read the news on a news reader, check your calendar and more.  It’s great because on one device there are so many uses.  One thing people are starting to do more of is use it for business.  We have done multiple iPad for business articles and people really appreciate them so here are some newer iPad business apps that are sure to keep you productive.

Lock Down Websites

The first iPad buisness app I want to talk about is LocPad.  This is a special web browser app that can be configured to only allow access to a specific list of websites.  It’s like having a whitelist of sites that are allowed.  If you are a business then this is a great app to have for enforcing web surfing policies.  Beyond enforcing policies you could also use this app to set up a an iPad Kiosk that only displays a specific web site, or provide an iPad to sales staff and configure it for only a specific set of sites relating to sales and product.

Another great use of LocPad which is not necessarily a business use would be to use it at home with your kids.  You could create a child-safe web browser and set it to only go to websites that are appropriate for kids.

LocPad is a great iPad business app with multiple uses.  It is $9.99 in the app store.

Create PDFs On Your iPad

There are many iPad business apps that allow you to read PDFs and mark them up but how about an iPad business app that lets you actually create PDFs?  Save2PDF is just the app you need for that.  Save2PDF will convert most file formats into a PDF including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Pages, Numbers, Keynote, Photos, Web Pages, Contacts and many more formats.

But that is not all this great business app does.  You can also merge several documents together into a single PDF even if the files are different formats.  This means you could create a single PDF by combining a document from Pages and a spreadsheet from Excel or Numbers.  Of course you can also just merge several PDF files into one single large PDF.

Another great feature with Save2PDF is the ability to select just a few pages from one file and a few from another file and then create one single PDF from those selections.  Of course this amazing iPad business app also comes with the ability to print and includes several options for that as well.

Save2PDF is $9.99 in the app store and if you are serious about PDF’s then you really want to check this one out.

Use Your iPad As A Fax Machine

Did you ever think you could fax from your iPad? Well, you sure can with the eFax iPad business app.  it’s the perfect match to the Save2PDF app because you could essentially create all your PDF documents in one file and then use the eFax app to “fax” them off immediately.  How’s that for being productive on the iPad?

The eFax app does require that you have an eFax account and you can sign up within the app for a 30-day trial if you are not sure you want the full service.  They have 2 packages and the basic one costs less than $20 per month.  Compared to a real fax machine it is much cheaper to go this route.  And with the eFax app it ties into the service transparently.  With the app you can create and send faxes, search for faxes you received or sent, use cover sheets and contact lists, tag and archive faxes and send all your faxes via email if you choose.

The eFax business app is must-have for anyone that does a lot of faxing and would rather do it right from their iPad.  I used this app during the trial while I was at the airport.  I had a document I needed to fax and so I turned it into a PDF, got on the free airport Wi-Fi, and then used eFax to send it off.  It was a great experience.

Create & Send Emails Using Your Voice

We all know that the onscreen keyboard is great for some things but for lengthy typing it still takes a bit of getting used to.  And you may not always have an external keyboard with you so what could be better than using your own voice to create and send Emails? Well not much.  QuickVoice2Text Email is an iPad business app with many features.  It is a pro recorder that also uses SpinVox for sending text emails using just your voice and a few quick touches.

Basically all you have to do is tell the app you want to record an “Email As Text” and start speaking.  It does a pretty amazing job of recognizing your voice and transcribing it into words.  This is a huge productivity booster when you are busy and don’t have time to fiddle with typing on the iPad.  After using it a few times I was convinced it would be perfect for anyone that is in business or just plain busy.

QuickVoiced2Text Email is $2.99 and well worth it even if you just use the voice to email feature.

Make Notes And Set An Alarm

How many times are you in a meeting or just thinking of something you need to do and you jot down a note but then forget about it?  I do that all of the time.  Along came the iPad and I got some great apps to take notes but I still forgot what I wrote down.  Now comes a great solution.  BugMe! is not just a great business app it’s a great business app that also helps make you more productive.  With this app you jot down your ideas or reminders or notes on stickies and then have it audibly remind you.

Each note you jot down can have it’s own separate alarm and/or due date.  This is a great feature the has this as the #1 productivity app in several countries.  Not only can you jot down simple notes but you can also jot down your entire to-do list and then have an audible alarm set to remind you of that as well.

The interface is super simple and the developers are currently working on even more features.  This is one productivity boost well worth $1.99.
