iPad Case and Sleeve Review | Haul [video]

This iPad case and sleeve review shows you one of the most unique and environmentally sound products you will probably ever find…

Haul is a company that knows how to be unique.  Their products are all made out of recycled rubber or plastics and they give you a one-of-a-kind sleeve or case.  They are based out of Australia and are very much so a family business. Their products are all handmade and because they use recycled materials you are pretty much guaranteed to get something that no one else will have.

iPad Sleeve

The  sleeve is made out of used rubber printing blankets.  It is super strong, thick, and has a felt-like lining on the inside.  The lining is bright and soft for great protection.  It is stitched extremely well and has a very industrial feel/look to it.  The iPad fits perfectly into it and holds it quite nicely.  If you are looking for an accessory that isn’t the same as everyone else has, then this sleeve is perfect.

iPad Case (Folio)

The case, or folio, is a little bit bigger than the sleeve as it covers the iPad completely.  It has a fold-over top and secures with an elastic band and it provides a ton of room.  The case also has the super-bright felt lining with padding and extremely good stitching.  Again, this is a very industrial product that is just heavy enough to let you know it is a top-quality product.  If you are looking for a case (folio) that fully covers the iPad and is a big bigger, then this is perfect for you.

The Haul iPad Case Process

Wondering how they create these cases?  Here is a link to their amazing process of using used rubber printing blankets. And here are a few photos of that process.

    Hey Shane,

    Thanks for the review.

The rubber pieces our iPad cases are made from are printing blankets [ which are used in the off-set printing process].
The beauty of print blankets is that the ink design on them is from the last print run they were used in. Some are from newspapers [oh the irony] others from label & catalog printers, so no two are ever the same.

Scott. Thank you for letting me know! should have emailed before I did the review but I think most people will go to the website as well to learn more about the products. I got a lot of responses back!

  8. iPad Case says:

Nice review. I like the video as well.

Haul really has a good product. Not only it is unique but it is environment-friendly as well. Hopefully, many companies would go the same route. :)

  9. Shane says:

    Patrick,
Thank You much, I appreciate it. I would love to see more companies go this route! I'm going to review the Oberon and the Ribcage next! By the way, I really like your blog!

  10. iPad Case says:

    Hi Shane,

Yes, it will be for a good cause if they do.

Thanks, glad you like our blog. We do writeups on different cases daily as there are just too many around and hopefully we'll be able to help users find the right case. :)

  11. Shane says:

Patrick – I agree! it's crazy how many there are…I created my own iPad stand by the way! Hey, not sure if you trade links, but if you are interested, we could link to each other – i'm sure my readers would enjoy your blog a lot.

  12. iPad Case says:

    Shane,

Where can I see the stand? That's really nice.

Yes, I do exchange links to iPad-related sites. I believe my readers would love your site as well.

Let me know though the anchor text you would like. I'm fine with “iPad Case” or “iPad Case Review”.

  13. Jessica Black says:

These people at Haul http://www.haul.com.au seem to have their heads screwed on in the correct manner.

It's nice to see a bit of forward thinking that involves the creation of a product that is not only very functional and different to what every other case and sleeve company makes, but also uniquely individual.

I love their complete range of stuff from the iPad sleeves to their MacBook Sleeves and on to the bean bags made from recycled printed vinyl billboards.

After doing a bit of research, it seems that these guys @haul have a considerable fan base and the business is actually run by a dog @GusTheBoxer …. who would have thought :)

  14. Shane says:

Jessica – thanks for stopping by and commenting! I agree with you 100%. It's long been my experience that if you create something of high quality and one that has other benefits, then it will be a winner. Their products, after actually seeing one are top-notch and sutainable!

  15. Kevin Novak says:
