There are many types of ways you can protect and carry your iPad. There are folios, sleeves, bags and covers. But if you are wanting to have a more durable solution that fully protects your device such when traveling or commuting a lot, then you might want to consider a hard-shell case. Here we look at one such case that is not only protective but it is stylish and every durable.
The Carbon Fiber Case
Carbon fiber is an interesting substance. It is also known as graphite fiber, carbon graphite or CF. It is a material consisting of extremely thin fibers about 0.00g-0.010 mm in diameter and composed mostly of carbon atoms. These carbon atoms are bonded together in microscopic crystals that are aligned parallel to the long axis of the fiber. This makes the fiber extremely strong (for its size). Once you have thousands of these fibers woven together they can be bonded with a resin and made into products, such as the Mach3 Carbon Fiber iPad Case.
This iPad case is not only durable but it is functional as well. It is definitely “form meets function”. The case has a shell made out of 100% carbon fiber and it is lined with a soft padding that leaves a little extra room in case you need it. The fasteners are all metal and the screws used to put the fasteners on are machine placed so the quality is noticed right away.
One thing you will notice about the case is that it has a very shiny, yet industrial look. I liken it to something you can throw your iPad into and not worry about it too much after that. It’s simple but does exactly what it is supposed to do: protect your iPad.
I did not have a sleeve on my iPad so it appeared loose inside the case but no worries there, it’s plenty padded and Mach3 is in the process of adding a little more padding. Most of this is due to the fact that the iPad has a more rounded shape on the back. I was extremely impressed with the way the iPad fit into it and the lid closed and all fit perfectly. There is also a rubber lining around the lip for added protection.
Mach3 has cases for laptops (12, 13, 15, and 17-inch) as well.

It is definitely a nice case and very durable. I have never seen carbon fiber before but now that I have, I can understand why it’s so valuable…..amazingly strong!
