100 iPad Competitors. Here They Are.

Here are 100 potential iPad competitors.  I have been saying for a few months now that 2011 will be the year of the tablet, but this is a little over-the-top.  Most of these are tablet-type devices that debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show earlier this month and most of them will never be relevant.  Here’s the list of all 100.

100 iPad Competitors

This list below, compiled by CEA Chief Economist and Director of Research, Shawn DuBravac is pretty amazing.  And who knows which of these will be a real iPad competitor or not.  In fact, most of these may never even see the store shelves but there are certainly a few that could bubble up to top.  Take a look and notice the various screen sizes as well as the fact that there are no prices (not surprising) or availability.

So what do you think of these iPad competitors?  Any match for the iPad or the rumored iPad 2?

Ha, great list Shawn. I noticed one, the “Kno”, that’s listed at 14″ x 2 (dual screen). Sounds like a coffee table book to me. That would sure be fun to tote around, Huh?

Also, that’s a lot of companies scrambling around for the remaining 10% of the tablet market!!

    • Shane says:

Ha! Yeah, this is really getting out of hand and I truly to suspect that it will all shake out to just a few players in the market…Apple, RIM, Android….I would add the Windows tablet but I seriously feel they won’t get far if they continue to not create a mobile version of Windows that actually works well.

Long liste COMPETITION=NOVELTY, lets wait for THE BIG NEWS.

  3. Glen says:

Good list, I brought a cheap pad from E bay does what I wanted it for mail and a bit of browsing. I would suggest that if you want anything more than that including videos DON’T go for a cheapy from E bay as I fear you will be disappointed! OK for what I wanted but not much good for anything more!

    • Shane says:

Thanks glen!! Which one did you buy??

      • Glen says:

I can’t say for certain as it is a non branded one I think. However the model isa KD-03. Android version 1.9 which as far as i can seeis a patched up 1.6. Its hard as was a Bday gift from my wife.

        • Shane says:

Oh thanks Glen…I was just curious because I had not heard of it yet – I am eager to try out an android tablet but from what I’ve seen of the app store….it’s much different than the Apple Apps

          • Glen says:

No worries, the Market Place is alright the way I always describe the difference between Iphone and Android, when asked, is that anyone can use Iphone yet Android is for more technically savvy people. I don’t mean that as Techies people just people that are savvy with current technology.

            • Shane says:

That’s a great way to put it Glen…I think Apple makes is super easy for “the masses” but the Marketplace and android tends to attract those with more tech savvy.
