All the new iPhone 5 features you wanted to know about. As soon as Apple rolls out the iPhone 5, we’ll all know for sure what it has in it, but in the meantime we have to depend on leaks and rumors. Here are the ones we can verify as truths about the new iPhone 5 features, we hope.
Improve Security
Apple announced the buyout of AuthenTec, Inc., which is a provider of mobile security technology. It stands to reason that they plan to include this mobile security in the iPhone 5 makeup. However, since the deal isn’t done yet, it’s not known if it’s one of the iPhone 5 features. We can classify this as a rumor.
The Operating System For The iPhone 5
The next version of iOS 6 is on the way out this fall, but Apple is keeping this a closely guarded secret as to whether it will be part of the iPhone 5 feature. We can classify this as a rumor.
Truth Or Rumor on NFC
Again, if the new iPhone 5 has the new iOS6 operating system, we can look forward to the new feature Passbook. It holds all the passes, coupons, and loyalty cards for the payment program based on near field communication or NFC. Nobody really understands what it does, but it sound really cool.
NFC is a way to establish radio communication for contactless transactions, data exchange, and simplified setup of more complex communications such as Wi-Fi. It also makes it possible to communicate between a NFC device and an unpowered NFC chip, better known as a “tag”. Perhaps that is what Apple will use them for;however; they have to be within a few centimeters of each other. We think this can be classified as a rumor.
19-PIN Dock Connector
The new iPhone 5 features a smaller 19-pin connector as compared to the 30-pin connector. It would make room for the headphone jack, which is rumored to be on the bottom of iPhone 5 chassis. This is a rumor from Reuters and as yet, is unconfirmed, but the leaked image of the new iPhone 5 looks like it may be true.
Larger and Thinner Display
The front panel of the iPhone 5 looks like it might have a thinner, but larger display. The leaked image shows it may have a better image quality with the LCD touch screen. It’s hard to tell with an image but it looks thinner? We think this should be classified as a rumor.
4G support
Experts on iPhones believe the new iPhone will use the Qualcomm chip that works with 3G GSM and 4G LTE ISP services. Being experts, they would know, but this is not been confirmed by Apple. Although, it would make them sell better if Apple can tout the new LTE wireless technology. We’ll take this one as a rumor, too.
