Is this Marvel offering more miss than hit?

At first glance you might think this looks somewhat similar to a certain fruit-based ninja-slicing game and… well you wouldn’t be wrong. Employing the same basic mechanics that made the aforementioned game so fun, Marvel KAPOW! offers something different to its source of influence.

In Marvel KAPOW!  you’re tasked with battling Dr Doom’s evil horde of minions with the help of some of the publishing titan’s best-known characters’abilities; namely Wolverine’s claws, Thor’s hammer, Captain America’s shield and Spider-Man’s webs. Four different powers in a fun gameplay environment seems a recipe for obvious success.

However, you’ll quickly find that the game doesn’t have many other ideas other than to throw wave after wave of enemies at you. While it’s initially fun using the intuitive controls to unleash destruc­tion on the flying heads, there’s only so long you’ll want to do it for.
