Targus Leather Z Case
The next premium iPad 2 case is a leather one from Targus and it’s called the Z Case. This one has a vibrant color with a hard-shell exterior for protection and a soft lining to help prevent scratches and damage to the screen. Another feature you get is a secure magnetic closure that keeps it shut so your iPad does not fall out.
The Targus Leather Z Case is around $51.
iLuv Portfolio Case With Stand
Here is a premium iPad 2 folio style case from iLuv that also comes with a stand (seems to be the norm). This iPad 2 case is designed for multiple viewing angles that allows you to type or watch movies or even use Facetime. It also comes in 3 colors: Black, Brown and Grey.

The iLuv is selling for around $21.
SimpleSleeve for iPad 2
Here is a sleeve for your new iPad 2. This is a premium iPad 2 case of a different sort. Sleeves do not typically have stands associated with them and they don’t have a lot of storage for accessories. They are meant to use as a means to carry your iPad around without a lot of extra bulk.
Description. Grantwood Technology presents the SimpleSleeve for the Apple iPad and iPad 2. This sleeve is made of extra durable neoprene and an asymmetric zipper. The zipper design allows easy insertion, removal and charging in the case. The inside of the case is made of a super soft, plush lining that will protect your iPad from unwanted wear and tear.
This sleeve is very light weight and is an excellent companion to use on its own, or in your favorite carrying case. The SimpleSleeve is selling for around $20 so that’s not too bad and it also has a 4.5 star rating from users.

This iPad 2 case sells for around $27 and it has a mediocre review rating by users that have purchased it.
iLuv Flex-Gel Case for iPad 2
A gel case is not something you put your device in and zip up or latch closed. These cases fit on the iPad 2 in order to protect the back of the device.
A perfect fit for your iPad 2, the iCC818 protects your iPad from scratches and fingerprints. Fitting snugly around your iPad, it allows full access to the audio output jack, dock connector, Multi-Touch display and all iPad controls and is available in stylish colors.
It is available in black, blue, gray, pink and white. The iLuv sells for around $18 and has a 4/5 star rating.
Bear Motion 100% Leather iPad 2 Case
The Bear Motion is a case that is specifically designed for iPad 2 with details tailored to meet end users’ every expectation. It supports Sleep Mode as it will put your iPad 2 to sleep when the cover is closed and it wakes it up when the cover is opened.
This is a 100% Top Grain Leather Case. If you search Top Grain Leather on Wikipedia, you will learn that Top Grain leather is considered as the second highest grade of leather, and is as strong and durable as full grain leather. It is split from the top layer of hide and sanded and refinished.
This premium case is made of the High Quality Top Grain Leather. Why it is not made of full grain leather? Maybe you will ask. Full Grain Leather is very thick and heavy. it is not suitable for computer cases. Top Grain Leather has the durability that Full grain leather has to offer as well as the appropriate weight, thickness and texture a good iPad case should have.
The Bear Motion is $33 and it is definitely a favorite so far. Users love that the iPad 2 fits right into it “like a glove” and that this feels much higher quality than the price would dictate.
Booq Agenda
Here is an amazing little premium iPad 2 case. This one even gives you a notepad (yes, a real notepad) to write on. The Booqpad agenda combines iPad 2 case and notepad into one product, making it the ideal solution to create, store, review or present the next hot idea. Keeping a pen or stylus, business cards, cash or tickets close to your iPad and written notes has never been more convenient.
Designed symmetrically for right and left handed users, each Booqpad ships with a blank, 50-sheet A5 notepad made from at least 30% post-consumer materials and printed with soy ink, a surface perfect for sketching, writing, note-taking, or laying out the next app, printed piece, product, story, or website.
While providing iPad protection and access to all buttons and ports in a symmetrical layout, a center slot for a pen or stylus, a slot for your business cards, one for theirs, as well as an inner slot for tickets or even cash come together in an strikingly elegant design.
It’s currently selling for around $50.
iLuv
iLuv has some great iPad 2 cases all ready to go. And they are not half bad at all. The one that stands out the most is the Portfolio case with a stand. It is very uniquely designed with flexible viewing angles and it looks like real leather. The case stands upright for better viewing and it can also be folded down for typing. It’s more like a folio than a case.
The iLuv is selling for around $29 and if you like this style of iPad 2 case, then it’s perfect for taking it just about anywhere!
Skosche
Now here is something different. The Skosche iO P2 is a really nice iPad 2 folio case that features a carbon-fiber (or leather) texture for the absolute best protection you can get. It also supporst multiple viewing angles and has a 3-position landscape viewing setting.
The Skosche is currently selling for around $35 but it’s well worth it for the quality and functionality.
Waterfield
Waterfield is introducing seven new iPad and iPad 2 cases, starting with the iPad Wallet ($79; iPad & iPad 2). Available in six different colors (green, red, brown, teal, gray, or black), the iPad Wallet is a travel case for your iPad that features a separate pocket for a Bluetooth keyboard as well as room for a few other accessories. Its iPad pocket has enough room to accommodate a Smart Cover.
Hard Candy White Collection
Hard Candy is one company that I really like. I have one of their bubble sleeves and it’s been the best one I’ve owned so far. Their latest White Collection looks pretty interesting as they have 3 new cases in pure white.
They have the Candy Convertible ($45) which is a premium iPad 2 case made of faux nubuck; the infamous Bubble Sleeve ($50), which is made of a super tough EVA foam and bubbles for extra protection; and the mean looking StreetSkin ($40), which is made out of form fitting TPU rubber.
There are a few premium iPad 2 cases that are for sale right now. There will be a lot more that start coming online and in the stores but if you wanted to get one now, these ones are a pretty safe bet. We also reviewed the HardCandy Bubble Case that can be used with the iPad 2 as long as you also have the Smart Cover attached.
If you want to see a list of all these cases, view the reviews, and get your own, click here to see them and view even more. We will be updating this list frequently so check back. And if you find a case that works for your needs, let us know in the comments.

I was surprised not to see mention of the big Moleskin-style names such as Portenzo, DODOcase or Treegloo.
Herb thank you. I am actually adding more tonight
I’ll look at these too
I got the new one from Saddleback Leather. Awesome cover and more protective than the first but the straps might slow some people down. The advantage is that you can leave the IPad in the case.
Thanks a ton David. I’m going to add that one to the list. I had an original saddleback for the iPad and definitely a big fan!!!
I got a nice silicon case from Simplism, a Japanese company, pretty nice and protects the whole iPad, moreover, the cover can be rolled and used to lift it a little bit in the same way than the smart cover does.
Oh wow…just took a peek at those and I have to say, they are super nice. And not bad pricing either! Thank you for sharing. I will add these to the list…
I really like my rooCASE Dual Station Premium Leather Case Cover (magenta) with Stand for Apple iPad 2. It’s my second rooCASE – had one for my original iPad (and constantly got compliments on it) and liked it so much I was sad to give it up when I got my iPad 2. The fit is really secure, the case adjusts for viewing at 35 and 65 degrees, and it has a magnetic closure that wakes up/puts the iPad 2 to sleep. Highly recommended!
Hi Beth! Thanks for the feedback…I had not seen a rooCase before but I like the look and and the color is pretty interesting too! I’ll add this one to the list as well.
This is the first choice of the corporate world to save their ipads. It would saves your ipad
from the scratches on the side from some where.
I’m curious if you were going to review the Portenzo case? I read that you were going to contact them to do a review, but I can’t find anything on here. http://www.portenzo.com
