QR Codes are starting to appear everywhere, from your local supermarket to national newspapers and magazines. QR Codes are similar to the barcodes you see on products in shops, acting as a way to store information in a image form. Scanning the QR code with the right tool will reveal the information held within it, be that a web URI, product information or even a hidden message. This guide will show you how to read QR Codes with your Wad.
From your iPad home screen, launch the App Store using the App Store icon.
In the App Store search box, enter Scan and hit search.
If there is more than one option, choose Scan by QR Code City.
Install the Free Scan app onto your iPad in the usual way.
When the installation is complete, open Scan app on your iPad
When using the app for the first time, the settings are not set to your specifics, yet you don’t really need to change anything for the moment, so just tap the Scan tab at the bottom of the screen.
You can now tap anywhere on the screen to start the scanning software.
Hold your iPad steady with the QR Code you want to read in the centre of the scan screen. You don’t need to press anything to scan the code, just let the app detect and read it. Whatever information the code contains will then appear on the screen (url, text, phone numbers, etc).
You now have your very own, free, QR Code reader on your ?Pad. Keep your eyes open for codes to read and have fun finding out what information they contain.
