With the Royal Wedding rapidly approaching (Friday, April 29th, 2011) it’s going to be a media frenzy and unless you are able to actually be there and enjoy it, then you may just want to experience it the second best way, right from your iPad.
Royal Wedding iPad Apps
All this week things are going to be a bit of a frenzy on the news, media, and across the nation as people go crazy over the royal wedding taking place between Prince William and Kate Middleton.
This is a historical moment in history much like Princess Di and Charles was in the early 80′s. As it turns out, we have a massive fascination with all things royal right now and if you go into any store, turn on any TV, or browse any newspaper you will pretty much agree that it’s hard not to notice what is considered the wedding of the decade.
So we figured, that if you are reading this, you may not be sitting front row and center in the UK for the event and you probably are wondering about some royal wedding iPad apps. Here are some of the best ways to enjoy the royal wedding using your iPad and at a lot less cost.
Royal Wedding By NBC News
First up is the royal wedding by NBC News iPad app. This one is clearly designed for the iPad with a lot of thought by the NBC developers providing you with all of the essentials you need. It’s a free app bringing you photo galleries, the latest news, a really neat (and interactive) family tree to learn about the heritage, a shop to buy memorabilia, and of course the ability to share out all of content via social media.
Royal Wedding 2011
Here is another great free royal wedding iPad app. Royal Wedding 2011 is your digital guide to insider information, news, facts, and more.
This app is kind of like buying one of the magazines where you want to save it because you know it will be worth money someday. It has some pretty nice features that even gets into royal protocol, fun facts, and also lets you connect with others that are interested in the even via Facebook.
People The Royals Book
People magazine always does an amazing job and PEOPLE The Royals Book is no different. For $4.99 you get a high quality digital book dedicated to the entire regime of royal marriages fully updated with the latest about William And Kate.
The Royals Book gets you up close and personal with everything you could possibly want to know and see but since this is on the iPad, you get interactive features such as photo galleries and clickable links which makes this a far better value than buying it in the store (which will also cost more).
iDo: Follow London’s Royal Wedding
If you are looking for an interactive map and a way to actually track the royal couple as they traverse their way from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace the you will want to check out iDo: Follow London’s Royal Wedding for $0.99.
Using this app you can view some really nice maps of the entire wedding route, track the royal couple during the actual procession, and follow important information coming from Twitter, etc.
There are definitely going to be a few more royal wedding iPad apps right before the event but these ones are some of the best ways to enjoy and experience this amazing and historic event.
