ESPN…. Pushing Its Way To An iPad Near You

One of the best things about this app is how well ESPN has taken the feel of its broadcasts and website, and managed to translate it directly to an iPad app in such a way that it just feels natural. The first things you will notice, is a bar at the bottom of the screen that is constantly running headline news for all kinds of sports, just like on TV.

As far as the interface of this app goes, you start out with just a “More from ESPN” page, but there is a little gear shaped icon in the bottom left corner. This little icon is where you set what sports you want ESPN to stabs on for you. There are a variety of sports to choose from all over the world, including baseball, basketball, cricket and rugby.

In summary, this is a good sports app right now, but it just hasn’t managed to separate itself from the competition yet. However, the upcoming update with video and push notifications is likely going to raise the bar high enough that it truly puts this app in a league of its own.
