Everything You Want To Know About Anything In One Place

Most of us have a few favourite websites that we regularly visit to get our daily fix of current affairs, sports news, celebrity gossip, film reviews, info on the latest video games, and so on and so forth. Wouldn’t it be handy however if you could find one single app that put it all in one place, cutting out the need for any surfing around? Well that’s what SkyGrid endeavors to do. It offers a complete blanket news service, pulling in content from many publications and websites all over the world.

Load it up and the first screen you’re confronted with is What’s Hot’. These are basically the big stories of the minute and a glance down the list of headlines can give you an at a glance snapshot of what’s going on the world right about that moment.

There are two more navigation buttons up top. Most viewed and Team Favorites – stories picked out by the SkyGrid team that they feel are worth a read.

The categories section is as you’d expect. Stories are broken down into a broad range of categories, everything from Politics and Business through to entertainment.

The best feature on offer is the ability to follow pretty much anyone or anything. This isn’t the same thing as following on Twitter. What you do is enter keywords and the app will jump straight to all the relevant stories. For example you might want to put in the name of your favourite sports team, musical artist or anything else that takes your fancy. This is where the app really comes into its own and this is the reason you should check it out. All the latest news, stories and information on all your favourite things from around the internet all pulled into one place. Clicking on each story takes you to the relevant publications website where you can navigate around as you would in a regular browser but you’re only ever a single button press from your SkyGrid listing so navigation is a breeze.

The app makes it incredibly easy to stay on top of topics and stories that may be unfolding as well as keeping up to date in areas of personal interest. It can be a little bit US-centric at times but that’s really the only criticism we can come up with. Other than that it’s a terrific little app that works a treat. From your football team’s latest match report to politics in the middle east, whatever your area of interest SkyGrid has it covered.
