Ways To Organize Apps With Folders and Multiple Screens

The most common way of arranging apps on iPad or iPhone would be to press and hold an icon until it starts to move about and ‘jiggle’. These are some extension ways to organize apps with folders and multiple screen.

Move and Arrange

What to arrange your apps in a different order? Tap and hold on any icon until they all ‘jiggle’. You can now drag any of them around – the other will slide out of the way to make room. when you’re done, press the Home Button.

Multiple Screens

Your iPad may put apps on another Home Screen. The ‘lights’ above the Dock (foot on the screen) indicate the number of screens and which one you’re looking at (the left-most is the Search screen). to see the next one, swipe a finger across the screen.ways to organize apps

Moving Between Screens

To move an app to another screen, tap and hold an icon, then drag it to the side of the screen. The next screen will slide into view; drop the app where you want it. You can have up to 11 Home screens; to add one, drag an icon to the right-hand edge of the last screen.

Dock Your Favorite

What to keep some apps accessible no matter which home screen you’re viewing? The Dock (bottom of the screen) can hold up to six apps and stays the same on every one of your Home screens. To add an icon to it, tap and holds as before, then drag the icon into it.

Creating Folders

You can organize apps into folders. To create a folder, tap and hold an icon, then drag one icon into another. The folder will be given a name based on the apps; to change it, enter ‘jiggle’ mode, tap the folder to open it, tap the name filed and type a new name.

Using Folders

If a folder contains apps that show alerts (such as Mail), the alert will appear on the folder icon (top right). To access the items, tap the folder to open it then tap the icon. To close the folder, tap the screen outside of the folder or the Home button.

Modifying Folders

A folder can hold up o 20 items (a single screen full of icons). To add apps to a folder, tap and hold an icon to enter ‘jiggle’ mode, then drag the icons you want into it; to remove items, enter ‘jiggle’ mode, tap the folder to open it and simply drag icons out.

Quick Tip : To delete an app, tap and hold on any icon until they are jiggle, then tap the X in the top-left corner of your unwanted app’s icon. Take note that the built-in apps can not be deleted. To delete a folder, drag all the contents out of it – it will be deleted automatically when it’s empty.
